Organised in five thematic sections, A Seat at the Table: Food & Feasting in the Islamic World features over 100 remarkable artifacts from the Museum of Islamic Art’s collection, complemented by select loans from other Qatar Museums institutions and the Qatar National Library. The exhibition celebrates the heritage of Islamic dining culture—showcasing beautifully inscribed manuscripts, ornate serving ware, and ceremonial utensils. Each section features a dedicated video of a contemporary chef preparing a dish inspired by traditional recipes, highlighting the continuity of culinary knowledge. The exhibition not only preserves historical narratives but also invites modern reflection on the social and communal aspects of food in Islamic societies.
